VICTORIA, Texas - Iconic Consignment stands in the heart of downtown Victoria with a 22-year-old owner.

The store's appeal stems from its owner's passion for thrifting. Iconic Consignment quickly gained traction at 361 Pop-Up Shop and moved to its first location.

Xavior Turrubiartes started the business at the age of 21 last year. He said the idea of the store came from his love of thrifting and garage sales.

Iconic Consignment has successfully utilized platforms like TikTok to reach a wider audience. The store's TikTok account has amassed over 1 million likes in just under two years. Turrubiartes said using social media was a process for his business.

"Just lots of trial and error seeing what people like engaged with and what they don't, and I feel like my own personal social media use really played a role in my business’ one," Turrubiartes said. "I guess you could say because I took all the strategies of going viral on my personal, and I put those to use in my business’ one."

Turrubiartes finds fulfillment through connecting with the community. He expresses his excitement about meeting like-minded individuals who share his fashion sense and interests.

"It's crazy because growing up here, I feel like I never met people that had the same fashion sense as me or like were interested in the same things," Turrubiartes said. "Whenever I created Iconic [Consignment], all of the people that I never knew existed came out of the woodworks, and it was awesome to see so many people that have similar interests, great style, great sense of style, fashion, music, and things along that realm."
